Even though winter is ending soon, at least according to the calendar, we’re all about cozy vibes for our March selections.
We’re highlighting an Irish Red Lager and a triple distilled Irish whiskey (it is St. Patrick’s Day month after all) as well as a vibrant and warm red blend Spanish wine.
March Beer, Wine, and Liquor of the Month
Our March Beer of the Month is Banded Brewing’s Mo Chara, which is Gaelic for “my friend.” The Banded Brewing team say they welcome this 5.5% Irish Red Lager back every year just as warmly as the friend you don’t see enough. As pretty as it is tasty, Mo Chara has a red hue reminiscent of sherry or dusk. The nose offers notes of bundt cake, cherry preserves, and black tea. Toasted bread, Graham crackers, malt balls, and nougat can be tasted with each sip, and there is a clean, dry finish. 4-packs of 16 oz cans are available for $13.99.
Sangre de Toro Original Red is our March Wine of the Month. It’s made with the finest Mediterranean grapes, mainly Grenache and Cariñena, that give it a sunny, traditional Spanish character. It delivers vibrant, warm, and rich flavors and pairs well with stews, meat paellas and semi-cured cheeses. Bottles are $9.99.
Our March Liquor of the Month is Jameson Triple Triple. It’s triple distilled and triple casked and, as some say, triple smooth. The taste is luscious and textured, with notes of creamy fudge and vanilla — and mild nutty undertones and gentle wood spices slowly build over time to add further layers of flavor. Cocktail of the Month
This month’s recipe is a refreshing whiskey cocktail with citrus notes featuring our liquor of the month, Jameson Triple Triple.
Triple Citrus Smash

Ingredients:
- 2 oz Jameson Triple Triple
- ¾ oz fresh lemon juice
- ½ oz orange liqueur (Cointreau or Triple Sec)
- ½ oz honey syrup (equal parts honey and warm water)
- 2 dashes orange bitters
- Sparkling water (to top)
- Garnish: Lemon wheel & mint sprig
Instructions:
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, then add Jameson Triple Triple, the lemon juice, orange liqueur, honey syrup, and bitters. Shake well for about 10-15 seconds. Strain into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice and top with a splash of sparkling water. For a finishing touch, garnish with a lemon wheel and a fresh mint sprig.
